Luxury Globetrotting Reviews

I can't wait for the next trip

I bought this book about a year ago, read it, loved it, and then put it aside. I recently had a trip to London coming up and went through all of the hotel sites, the prices were disheartening, then I remembered this book. I went back to it and did what Ms. Waldron suggested. OMG! I got a fabulous flat on the Thames with views of the House of Parliament, Big Ben, the London Eye and the Bishop's Palace. I was in a neighborhood within walking distance to everything. Spent three fabulous weeks enjoying the city, taking care of business, and made some friends. I will never go back to the old way of travel. Thank you for this wonderful resource guide. Because of all I saved on accommodations I was able shop to my hearts content. I can't wait for the next trip.

Hope to try it sometime

Great book, answers all questions about house swapping. Hope to try it sometime.

Great read

I know Ainslie and Michael having done a home exchange with them a few years ago. I was really impressed with her book and felt that it would be very helpful for people looking to get into home exchanging.

Great read, kudos to you Ainslie and thank you for your very accurate account of Home Exchanging.

This has been an encouraging, informative and entertaining publication

It gives me hope for more affordable, more comfortable and perhaps more frequent international and intranational travel options. It has opened my eyes and mind to very credible, affordable and available options that would otherwise not have occurred to me. Congratulations to the author for presenting such a novel and inspirational concept and for presenting it in such an easy-to-read, warm and personable style.

You might be surprised at just how well you can live on very modest means

You see the lifestyles of the rich and famous on the television every day. And while you want a piece of that (who doesn't?), your family budget just doesn’t allow for the kind of luxury you'd like; or does it? You might be surprised at just how well you can live on very modest means. Here are some ways you can start living the high life on a Main Street budget.

Really helpful and informative

Ainslie ends chapters with “Ainslie’s Bullets” that show just how organized this book is. They are really helpful and informative. This is certainly a go-to book filled with beautiful and relevant information for home exchange travelers.

Wealth of guidance, insiders tips, success and challenges and more.

Ainslie Waldron’s new book Luxury Globetrotting on a Staycation Budget gives expert advice on how to travel the world with free accommodations using home exchanges. Chapters include What to Look for When Choosing a Home Exchange, How to Attract Home Exchanges, Where to Go and How to Behave, Insurance and House Swap Adventures.

World travel on your bucket list but not in your budget?

I just read a fascinating book on how you can travel the world on the cheap, paying nothing at all for your lodging. It’s a new travel trend called Home Exchanges.

Australian author Ainslie Waldron has written a how-to book called Luxury Globetrotting on a Staycation Budget, and the secret is to trade your home for a home in the country you’d like to visit. Ainslie lists several websites where you can place your house up for exchange, and search other countries for houses that other people are willing to exchange.  Always wanted to go to Ireland? Maybe someone in Ireland wants to visit your home town!

This is NOT Airbnb or Stayz or any type of scheme where money changes hands.

Immerse yourself in a different culture and find yourself along the way

The film The Holiday always comes to mind when I hear the term “home swap.” Swap homes with someone living in a foreign country, fall in love with a dapper Englishman, befriend a lovely older neighbor, immerse yourself in a different culture and find yourself along the way–sign me up!
